This event is not a corporate owned mega-festival, it is a homegrown event that is entirely run by musicians. Each performing artist is chosen because they are original… because their music will speak to your soul… because it will compel you to dance like no one is watching.

The Moonshiner’s Ball Celebrates 5th Anniversary

This year’s Moonshiner Ball begins on Friday, October 11, 2018, at 10:00 AM  and runs through Sunday, October 14, 2018, until 6:00 PM. This 3-day “Moonshine Soaked” event is celebrating its 5th anniversary and is being hosted by Kentucky’s own The Blind Corn Liquor Pickers. The festival when Autumn is in its prime so the Appalachian Mountains will be alive with color.

This Year’s Event Gets a New Venue

This year’s event will be held at a brand-new outdoor venue and will offer a campground near the Rockcastle River. The site is nestled in the beautiful Daniel Boone National Forest. The event will celebrate Kentucky art, music, food, and poetry.

Camp out, let your children run free, dip your feet in the creek, enjoy the music and when the singing is over join a drum circle as the sun wakes the day.

Twenty Four Performers are Scheduled to Rock Your World

This year’s event will feature 24 homegrown performers including nationally touring artists James McMurtry, Turkuaz, Moon Hooch, River Whyless, The Wooks, Southern Avenue, and Birdcloud & Los Colognes. Several up and coming Kentucky musicians will also take the stage including Joslyn & the Sweet Compression, the Local Honeys, Magnolia Boulevard, 1200 and Johnny Conqueroo. The hosts of the festival, the Lexington-based band The Blind Corn Liquor Pickers will also perform.

The event will also feature poetry readings, canoe expeditions, drum circles, yoga, lots of kids activities, the finest food trucks in the state, retail vendors, and the opportunity to mingle with “like-minded loving souls.”

Event Information

The event offers several different ticket packages. The cost of the ticket depends on the days you will be attending. Weekend passes include camping.
