Great day at Beachaven Vineyards & Winery
The wind and rain came in on Friday night and blew the festival away. Saturday started out wet and by 1:00 PM, officials with the City of Clarksville and the BOD of the Rivers and Spires Festival, closed down vendors and exhibitors for safety concerns.
But not to waste a day and to turn a bad day into a great day, we headed over to Beachaven Vineyards & Winery. What a jewel. Got to meet the owner, Ed Cooke, and had an enjoyable wine tasting. Their wine tastings are free, and the environment encourages the tastings at your leisurely pace.
Then Ed lead us on a tour of the winery, with a friendly, and not too serious, presentation of the wine making process. Very informative, and with Ed’s down home and folksy manner, it was a true treat that makes you feel like you have been there many times before and know Ed personally.
Superb Wines
Beachaven has won numerous regional, national and international tasting awards during their 23 years. Earning over 500 awards, including 7 Consensus Gold and hundreds of gold and silver medals. Establishing a reputation for wine quality and vintage consistency. If you like sweet wines, I recommend their Blackberry, and for a red, try their Gov’s Red. Blended with assorted berries and grapes. The Gov’s Red is a 2015 Indy International Gold Medal winner.
Jazz on the Lawn
In addition to great wine. Beachaven has many concerts for their Jazz on the Lawn events throughout the year. All concert events are admission free, with free parking.
So if you are driving on Interstate 24 through Clarksville, TN, Beachaven Vineyards & Winery is a must stop.
